Lectio Scripture, Sep 11th – Lectio Divina, 11 Sep.

Phil. 2:5-11

Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus, Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.
Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Tengan unos con otros los mismos sentimientos que estuvieron en Cristo Jesús: Él compartía la naturaleza divina, y no consideraba indebida la igualdad con Dios, sin embargo se redujo a nada, tomando la condición de siervo, y se hizo semejante a los hombres. Y encontrándose en la condición humana, se rebajó a sí mismo haciéndose obediente hasta la muerte, y muerte de cruz.
Por eso Dios lo engrandeció y le dio el Nombre que está sobre todo nombre, para que al Nombre de Jesús se doble toda rodilla en los cielos,  en la tierra y entre los muertos,  y toda lengua proclame  que Cristo Jesús es el Señor, para gloria de Dios Padre.

Summary for September 10th – Resumen del día 10 de Septiembre

The discernment retreat continued with an opportunity for members of the assembly to share their responses to yesterday’s presentation on the image of chalice as image of a Missionary, especially of one who exercises the ministry of leadership. B. Berinti continued reflecting on the chalice in the morning. The afternoon session was dedicated to naming qualities of leadership needed by a moderator general, followed by an opportunity to name members of the Congregation who demonstrated those qualities. A straw ballot was held, surfacing a number of names.
 
El retiro de discernimiento continuó con la oportunidad para que los miembros de la asamblea compartieran sus respuestas sobre la presentación de ayer sobre la imagen del cáliz como imagen de un Misionero, especialmente de alguien que ejerce el ministerio de liderazgo. Ben Berinti continuó reflexionando sobre el cáliz en la mañana. La sesión de la tarde se dedicó a nombrar las cualidades de liderazgo que necesita un moderador general, seguido de la oportunidad de nombrar a los miembros de la Congregación que demuestran esas cualidades. Se llevó a cabo una votación de sondeo, apareciendo varios nombres.
