Fr. Jeffrey Keyes, C.PP.S., will lead a tour of St. Gaspar sites, In the footsteps of St. Gaspar, October 1-10, 2012.
The tour, which departs from San Francisco, arrives in Rome on October 2. Touring begins in earnest on the second day with a trip to St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.
Other stops in Rome include Santa Maria in Trevio Church, which holds the tomb of St. Gaspar; the Pantheon; the Church of the Gesu, where Gaspar spent much of his time as a youth; the Palazzo Altieri, where St. Gaspar’s father was employed as a chef; and San Nicola in Carcare, where St. Gaspar preached his first mission.
Other communities included on the tour are Sonnino, where St. Gaspar preached reconciliation to the bandits; Albano; Assisi; and the Abbey of San Felice, where the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood was founded in 1815.
Daily Mass is included in the tour schedule.
