The month of January this year 2023 was a blessing for the Missionaries of the Precious Blood of the Province of Tanzania because three of its new members were ordained Priests in three different occasions. Alphons Fataki, Bernard Kasambala and Faustine Missanga who were incorporated in the Congregation and ordained deacons in the month of July 2022, were ordained priests, each one in his native diocese. The first one to be ordained was Bernard Kasambala on January 12 at his own home Parish – Blessed Anwarite Butonga Rungwe – Mbeya Diocese. The Liturgy presided by Archbishop Gervas Nyaisonga was celebrated with great jubilation because Fr. Bernard is the first native priest at his home Parish.
The second to be ordained was Alphons Fataki at Kwiro Mahenge Diocese on Friday January 19th by Mons. Agapitus Ndorobo the local bishop. The ordination took place at the Cathedral of the Diocese – Christ the King Parish. The Ordination liturgy was attended by many Priests, religious men and women from different parts of the Diocese of Mahenge, Ifakara, Morogoro and other parts of the country. The following day Fr. Alphons Fataki celebrated a thanksgiving mass at home with lots of jubilation colored by folklore.
The third to be ordained was Deacon Faustine Missanga, the event took place on Friday the 27th of January, at the Precious Blood Parish in Itigi. Although Faustine’s home Parish is Makiungu, it was decided to have this celebration at our Precious Blood Parish. Bishop Edward Mapunda officiated the ordination. The following day – on we travelled to Makiungu, located at 70 km from Itigi where the local Parish community had prepared a big feast for him. This thanksgiving mass was attended by the local diocesan clergy and local community.
