The Missionaries of the Precious Blood arrived in Brazil in November 11th 1929. This year we are celebrating 94 years of presence here and we are preparing for the Jubilee for the 100th year in the Brazilian territories that are rich in cultures. During these years, our apostolate focused on some specific towns. Today we are in the Archdiocese of Belém and in the Diocese of Xingu-Altamira.
In Belém we live in Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe parish where we try to spread our spirituality in the pastoral care. All priests, brothers and seminarians belonging to the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and answering to the call of Pope Francis take part in the mission of the parish and carry out their apostolates in the celebration of the Sacraments and in other ministries such as visiting the sick, going to hospitals and prisons and to some distant communities out of the boundaries of the Archdiocese as a specific mission.
The seminarians are encouraged to develop a missionary attitude to increase the Charisma of the Congregation and to meet the needs of the local Church. They help as acolites and with the catechesis, the youth, the pastoral communication and by playing instruments during the Mass. Moreover, they contribute to the prayer apostolate, the pastoral care for migrants, vocations and they collaborate with the Family of the Precious Blood.
