With great joy the Missionaries of the Precious Blood celebrated the ordination of a new priest in the Croatian Mission. Fr. Stjepan Ivan Horvat, C.PP.S. was ordained to the priesthood on September 26, 2015.
The ordination took place in the parish church of St. Euzebije and Polion in Vinkovci which is the home parish of Fr. Stjepan. In addition to Mons. Dr. Đuro Hranić, archbishop of the diocese Đakovo-Osijekwere, the principle concelebrants were Dominican Fr. Ivan Begović, OP, who belongs to the same parish, and Fr. Ilija Grgić, C.PP.S., the mission director.
Fr. Stjepan celebrated his first Mass the next day with Fr. Zbigniew Lesiczka CPPS, Vice Provincial of the Polish Province, preaching the homily.
Many family members, parishioners and friends joined in the celebrations. A large number of priests from the diocese, Missionaries of the Precious Blood from the Polish Province, the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, and members of other congregations and orders, supported Fr. Stjepan with their presence.
The Missionaries of the Precious Blood are grateful to Lord for his generous gift to our Mission in Croatia and together with our Holy Virgin Mary we praise God with our hearts filled with joy and pray for all the necessary grace for Fr. Stjepan and his future service.
