The Vicariate of Tanzania held its Business Assembly from March 2-4 at Ven. Giovanni Merlini Vocation Centre, Miyuji – Dodoma.  The Assembly was presided over by V.Rev. William Nordenbrock, C.PP.S. the Moderator General of the Congregation.

The Assembly was opened on Monday evening with a Eucharistic Celebration and the invocation of the Holy Spirit.  Fr. Reginald Mrosso, C.PP.S, the Vicariate Director, delivered the opening speech. He recalled the process of elevation of the Vicariate of Tanzania to a Province specifically how it was a collective work of members of the Vicariate, the Province of Italy and the General Curia. Finally, it was approved by the Major Superiors on the September 19, 2014. The Vicariate Director expressed a note of appreciation for all who participated in making this dream become a reality.

 

The second and third day of the Assembly was dedicated to discussions of several agenda items including the review of the Provincial Statutes, utilization of Chibumagwa Health Centre buildings, change of Ven. Giovanni Merlini Vocation Centre to a Spiritual Centre, construction of a new building at Ven. Giovanni Merlini Vocation Centre to suit the needs of a Spiritual Centre, the construction of a secondary school at Mwongozo Village in Chibumagwa and the planned use of the Uhindini plot.  A mass was held to conclude the Assembly.
