Special Meeting in the Indian Vicariate

Missionaries gathered for a series of meetings to discuss government and formation in the Vicariate.

The Missionaries of the Precious Blood in the Indian Vicariate gathered for a special meeting during the week of March 12, 2018.  Members gathered at the Vicariate headquarters in Bangalore and were joined by V. Rev. Terenzio Pastore, C.PP.S., the Director of the Italian Province, and V. Rev. William Nordenbrock, C.PP.S., the Moderator General.

During the previous General Administration regular elections and the formation program in the Vicariate were both suspended.  Over the past few years the Missionaries in India, in close cooperation with the Italian Province and the General Council, have participated in various programs of ongoing formation with the eventual goal of regularizing the situation in the Vicariate.

Over the course of the week the Missionaries had the opportunity to gather for prayer, community building, and dialogue about the future challenges in the Vicariate.  Much of the time was spent in small groups discussing the situation regarding formation and elections.  Both Fr. Terenzio and Fr. Bill were present to hear the Missionaries’ concerns during several listening sessions.

There are over ninety Missionaries of the Precious Blood in India and they minister in a variety of apostolates including parishes, schools, orphanages, and a spirituality center.
