Rev. Michael Rohde, C.PP.S., from the Teutonic Province, was called to his eternal peace.  He died at Neuenheerse, Germany on June 17, 2018,  shortly before his 25th anniversary of ordination

He was born on December 29, 1965 in Warburg ED Paderborn.  After attending elementary school and a year of junior high school, he enrolled in St. Kaspar Kolleg, a secondary school sponsored by the Teutonic Province of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.  After graduating from high school in1986, he entered formation at Schellenberg, Liechtenstein.  He then studied at the Theological Faculty of the University of Salzburg and was definitively incorporated on October 6, 1991.   He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1993 at the Salzburg Cathedral.

From 1993 to 1995 he was chaplain in the Province’s parish in Lindenberg / Allgäu. From 1995 to 2000 he ministered at St. Kaspar Kolleg in Neuenheerse. He then agreed to join Brazilian Vicariate to help the few Missionaries in the Vicariate serve the People of God. From 2008 to 2012 he was Vicariate Director and was re-elected in 2012 for another four years. However, he had to resign in 2014 for health reasons. Fr. Michael returned to Germany, where he took on different roles in Neuenheerse. Among other things, he worked there as a school chaplain. His severe illness, which began over the last few years, unexpectedly led to his death.

Over the years, Fr. Michael has actively engaged as a Missionary of the Precious Blood in the various concerns of the community. For all his dedication, be it as a chaplain or educator or as a missionary in Brazil, and more recently in St. Kaspar in Neuenheerse, he showed a sincere reverence for God. May he find the fulfillment of all longing in eternity, the peace that transcends all understanding.

A funeral mass was celebrated on June 21, 2018 at the parish church in Neuenheerse.  Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord.  And let perpetual light shine upon him.  May he rest in peace.  Amen.
