Rev. Helmut Giesers, C.PP.S. passed away in Mindelheim, Germany on October 13, 2016.  He was born on January 10, 1932 in Bocholt zur Welt and was definitively incorporated with the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in 1965 and was ordained a priest on July 2, 1966.

During his life he served in many of the Teutonic Province’s ministries.  His first assignment was as an instructor at the Gymnasium St. Kaspar in Neuenheerse.  He also served at Holy Cross parish in Traunstein.  In 1977 he returned to Neuenheerse as pastor.  Beginning in 1993 he ministered at the mission house in Baumgärtle.  In recent years he made his home at the St. Georg Senior Center in Mindelheim.

A funeral mass was celebrated on October 17 in the chapel at Baumgärtle followed by burial in the cemetery at Bedernau.  Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.  Amen.
