Rev. Franklin Rayappan, C.PP.S, 1969-2018

Rev. Franklin Rayappan, C.PP.S., died on July 3, 2018.  Fr. Franklin was a Missionary of the Precious Blood from the Indian Vicariate.  He was born on March 7, 1969 in Mugayur, Tamil Nadu, India.  

Following his university studies he entered formation with the Missionaries of the Precious Blood on June 1, 1990.  He was definitively incorporated on April 14, 1998 and was ordained to the priesthood on May 26, 2000 at St. Anne’s Parish in Bangalore.

He was entrusted with various responsibilities throughout his ministerial career.  He spent time as a pastor, administrator, and educator in various parishes and schools throughout the Vicariate.  in 2007 he completed a spirituality course was appointed the director Union of the Precious Blood, the lay associate program of the Congregation in India.  He also served in various capacities in the leadership of the Vicariate especially in formation and as local director in several communities.    

His health began to deteriorate in 2017 and he was admitted to the hospital on several occasions.  He was readmitted to the hospital in March 2018 and stayed until his death on July 3, 2018.  

Fr. Franklin’s death is a great loss for the Congregation in India.  He was known throughout the Archdiocese of Bangalore as always being willing to assist where ever he was needed.  Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord.  And let perpetual light shine upon him.  May he rest in peace.  Amen.
