We celebrate today, February 11, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, and the 33rd World Day of the Sick. Fr. Antonio Panea, who is a Hospital Chaplain at the Hospital of Badajoz (Spain) preached a one-day retreat for some 50 sick people and elderly members of the community.
The retreat took place at Saint Joseph Seminary in Vila Viçosa (Portugal). The gathering started with a reflection on the following topic, “Hope is not deceitful but it strengthens us in our troubles”. After that, there was a moment for community prayer and listening to the people. After lunch, the community stayed together until the Eucharist, during which the Anointing of the Sick was administered.
