In the United States, the fourth Monday of May is a national holiday. This holiday is Memorial Day and it is a day in which many people visit the graves of loved one. It is also a day of special remembrance of those that have died in military service. 

Many members of the American Provinces have served in the military, some before entering the Congregation but most have served as chaplains. On Memorial Day this history is visibly displayed in the community cemetery at St. Charles Center in Carthagena, Ohio. Each year a local veterans organization recognizes our members who have served in the military by placing a flag on their tombs. This year 67 graves have been honored in this way.
