On January 5, 2016 at Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of the Precious Blood Parish, Kisasa, of the Archdiocese of Dodoma, three seminarians, John Furaha Henjewele, Stephano Furaha Karabyo and Marco Raphael Loth, were definitively incorporated into the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. The incorporations took place during a eucharistic liturgy which was presided over by Rev. Fr. Chesco Peter Msaga, C.PP.S, the Provincial Director of the Province of Tanzania.
Fr. Msaga said that the three new missionaries of the Province of Tanzania are is the result of good Christian formation and human values imparted to them by their families. Fr. Msaga continued and noted that just as the apostles carried on the work of the Jesus, the new missionaries are called to continue the work of St. Gaspar, our founder.
The Mass was followed by a dinner attended by some C.PP.S missionaries, priests, religious, parents and relatives of the newly incorporated..
The following day, January 6, 2016, at the same church, the new missionaries were ordained deacons by the Archbishop of Dodoma, Archbishop Beatus Kinyaiya, OFM Cap. In his homily the Archbishop compared the three deacons to the traditional three magi giving them new names as Gaspar, Melchior and Balthazar. He commented that there were probably many astrologers who saw the star, but only these three magi took the initiative and courage to set out for the journey in search for the newly born king. The Archbishop said that the magi paid homage to the Child Jesus and offered part of what they had for their journey as gifts to the poor Jesus. The three deacons are called to serve the poor Jesus through their brothers and sisters in society.
Being the birthday of St. Gaspar del Bufalo, the founder of the Congregation, the Archbishop said that it was the spirit of the magi that inspired Gaspar to dedicate his life to the service of the needy. St. Gaspar wanted his followers to live together in communities and be ready to help the poor, both in body and spirit.
