There is a new priest, in the Italian Province of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. On September 4, Fr. Sergio Luiu, C.PP.S., was ordained priest and became united to the eternal priesthood of Christ the Lord.
Sergio was ordained priest through the imposition of the hands of the local bishop, Msgr. Gian Franco Saba in the parish church of San Giuseppe in Sassari, surrounded by his family, neighbors, and missionaries who traveled to the island of Nuraghe to share his joy.

The simple and heartfelt celebration, Sergio’s emotion, and the sharing of a wonderful meal with family and friends contributed to bring alive the words of Jesus: “Whoever has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or fields for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and inherit eternal life” (Mt 19:29).

May the peace and Spirit of the Lord always accompany the path of Fr. Sergio, and through his testimony he may truly be “light of the world and salt of the earth”, always seeking “the glory [of God] and the true care of souls” (Saint Gaspar).
