New Vicariate Council Begins Service in India

The new Vicariate Director and Vicariate Council began their service on March 1, 2016 during a eucharistic celebration at the Vicariate House.  V. Rev. Varakumar Chowtapalli, C.PP.S., the new Vicariate Director, presided at the mass.  He was joined by over forty other Missionaries of the Precious Blood, the Provincial Director of the Adorers’ of the Blood of Christ, as well as many other friends of the Congregation.

Chowtapalli stressed in his  homily the importance of coming together for the growth of the Vicariate and the importance of sacrifice following the example of Jesus Christ.  He also insisted that all members of the Vicariate join hands and help build the Vicariate, just as the Apostles built up the Church following the Ascension of Jesus.  After the homily, Rev. Henry Bright, a member of the General Council,  officiated at the installation ritual during which the new Vicariate Director made a profession of faith and the new Council promised to serve the Vicariate with total devotion.

At the end of the Eucharistic celebration Chowtapalli thanked the previous Council and Vicariate Director, Rev. Shaji Kunnel, C.PP.S. for all the works they initiated.  He also expressed gratitude to the General Council and Italian Provincial Council for their constant support for the Vicariate of India.
