On  July 25th, the Electoral Provincial Assembly of the Iberian Province began. The Assembly was held at the Seminary of São José in Vila Viçosa using the Peace Circles process that provided the necessary discernment for the members before the elections. Brother Juan Acuña, general councilor, led the process which allowed an 80% renewal of the Provincial Council. Ideas, projects, proposals, problems and the different CPPS ministries were discussed.

The 29th was election day. «Yes, with the grace of God» was the answer given by Father Luís Manuel Bairrada when he was elected Provincial for the four-year period between 2023 to 2027. After celebrating the Eucharist of inauguration of the newly elected provincial, the Assembly returned to work and elected the remaining members of the team: Fr. José Maria Borreguero, Vice Provincial, Fr. Virgílio Martins, Fr. António Rodrigues Conde and Fr. Eduardo Indeque.

On July 1st, after celebrating the Feast of the Precious Blood, the Missionaries of the Precious Blood return to their communities and ministries. There was an atmosphere of gratitude for the work of the former provincial Father Luís Filipe Fernandes and his council and a feeling of hope and collaboration towards this new team was expressed.
