The 2019 jubilarians from the Cincinnati and Kansas City Provinces were honored during the celebration of the Solemnity of the Precious Blood on July 1 at St. Charles Center in Carthagena, Ohio.
Fr. Garry Richmeier, C.PP.S., provincial director of the Kansas City Province, presided and preached. In his homily, he marveled at the hundreds of years of ministry performed by this year’s C.PP.S. jubilarians. Their selfless dedication to their ministry is an example of Christ’s expansive love for his people, which was poured out in his Precious Blood.
“Jesue died for us. He shed his Blood. And it’s that Blood that brought us into God’s love. It’s that Blood he sacrificed that opened the gates of heaven,” Fr. Richmeier said.
“It’s that Blood he sacrificed for everyone—that spoke so loudly, that we are brothers and sisters, united in the Blood of Christ. That’s what Jesus did, he united us, and he did it with his life, with his actions. He was always talking about those people who were told that they were not one of us—tax collectors, prostitutes, Samaritans. He said with his actions, ‘No, I have come to proclaim the good news that all are brought close through the Blood of Christ.’”
