Important Decisions Made at the MMS

The Meeting of the Moderator General and the General Council with the Unit Directors (MMS) was held in Santiago, Chile, November 12-16. We discussed many matters important to the Congregation. We discussed and planned the XXI General Assembly which will be held in Częstochowa, Poland in September of next year. The discernment process for that important gathering will begin in the units at the beginning of the new year.

We also made the historic decision to re-configure the Congregation in Latin America. The 5 units (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Peru and Central America) will be joined to create a new Latin American Province. The date for the erection of the new province will be announced when the planning process is completed, but you can read about that decision in a letter from the Moderator General, by clicking HERE.

Also, two documents that were developed in September at the 4th Meeting of Representatives of Lay Associate Programs (MERLAP IV) were approved for inclusion in the Normative Texts of the Congregation. You can access The Profile of a Precious Blood Lay Associate by clicking HERE. The Guidelines for a Precious Blood Lay Associate Program can be found HERE.
