The Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Spain have designed a new spiritual program which integrates the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises with Precious Blood Spirituality. The initial seminar was held July 29-August 4, 2018 at the Monastery of the Madre de Dios in Buenafuente del Sistal (Guadalajara, Spain). Fathers Toño Rodríguez, CPPS and Juan Pedro Ruiz, CPPS led the seminar for eight people of diverse ages, origins and stages of life. The key characteristic of the program was the integration of the pedagogy and dynamics of the Ignatian exercises, meditations and guidelines for personal prayer, with the biblical texts that inform Precious Blood spirituality. Also important was the psycho-spiritual accompaniment of the two Missionaries.
The location of the seminar was also a great benefit to the experience. The monastery is a place where silence, nature, prayer, austerity and monastic liturgy is central to the monastic community of women. Their community was a great gift to us in these days. A highlight of the experience was the period of adoration of the Body and Blood of Lord with which we concluded the exercises.
The participants experienced the grace of God as a new covenant sealed with his blood. We hope to be able to repeat this experience with others. The dream has begun!
