I was a Stranger…

CPPS missionaries of the Benevento community said YES in unison!! to a request received from one of our parishioners assisted by Caritas, Valentina of Russian origin, who with tears in her eyes asked us to help a Ukrainian family who arrived in the city fleeing the war.

We immediately thought of our house for college students “casa Merlini” now empty for two years due to the Covid 19 pandemic and with our USC lay associates in less than two days after the ok of the provincial, father Terenzio Pastore, we welcomed a young family Iuri and Tania with their little Iarek .

In their hearts their only hope is to return home as soon as possible, they keep repeating every day knowing that it will not be easy for the moment.

In this week the young Iuri has already found a job as a bricklayer and little Iarek has been accepted in elementary school.

For us CPPS and for all of our pastoral team this Lent will not be like others because, among the many sermons, concrete Charity knocked on our missionary house.
