Fr. Robert Markovits was born on August 28, 1931 in Mannersdorf/Rabnitz in the diocese of Eisenstadt (Burgenland/Austria) and was baptized on August 31, 1931.

He joined the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in 1952 and was definitively incorporated on January 6, 1957. He was ordained priest in Salzburg on July 13, 1958. After his ordination he ministered at the Maria Baumgärtle shrine and then he was part of the mission preaching team until 1963. Then he served as  assistant pastor at Stadl-Paura, Linz-Kleinmünchen (Upperaustria) and Klagenfurt-Annabichl (Carinthia/Austria), where he served until 1985. He was a highly appreciated catechist and youth minister.

On 1986  Fr. Robert became pastor at Attenhausen (nearby Maria Baumgärtle) and later on also at Günz. He retired on 2017 at the community of Maria Baumgärtle, where he died on November 10, 2020. He was buried in the parish graveyard of Attenhausen. Fr. Robert entrusted himself to the intercession of Mary. He was a mindful and affectionate confrere. May God grant him eternal rest.
