Fr. Michele Masi Returned to the House of the Father

Fr. Michele Masi was born in Santeramo in Colle (Ba) on September 2, 1937. Like many of our other confreres, he too entered the seminary in Albano Laziale at a very young age, moving later to Rome in order to complete his formation for the priestly ministry.  On October 4, 1959, he was definitively incorporated into the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.  On July 5, 1964, he was ordained a priest. He spent many of his 61 years of priestly life in parish ministry between Rome (St. Gaspar Parish), Santeramo in Colle and Putignano, devoting himself to caring for people with multiple activities and creating very strong relationships. Among the various activities much time was spent accompanying people not only on the journey of faith but also in discovering the beauties of the world thanks to numerous spiritual trips (Lourdes, the Holy Land and other places of worship) and cultural trips to different parts of the world, so people could see the wonders these many places had to offer. The last few years health problems had forced him to move to the community of Albano Laziale for care. Yesterday, Feb. 19, 2025, the Lord called him to Himself, for the last and most important journey to the Homeland of Heaven.

Father Michele Masi’s funeral will be held on Friday, February 21, in Albano at 9:30 a.m. and in Putignano at 4:30 p.m. Whereas another funeral service will be held in Santeramo in Colle on February 22 at 10 a.m. at the Holy Heart Parish.
