On October 20, 2014 Rev. Ansovinus Makwanda passed away due to injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.  Fr. Makwanda was returning to Manyoni from Itigi when the accident occurred.

Fr. Makwanda was born in the Morogoro region of Tanzania on April 17, 1971 and was incorporated into the Congregation on October 21, 2001, on the Feast of St. Gaspar.  He was ordained a priest on July 30, 2002 and was a dedicated Missionary of the Precious Blood.  He served in various capacities in the Vicariate of Tanzania including parochial ministry in Chibumagwa, treasurer of the formation house in Morogoro, and most recently as the Director of the School of Vocational Education and Training in Manyoni.

The funeral mass will be celebrated on October 24, 2014 and Fr. Makwanda will be buried in the Congregation’s cemetery in Manyoni.  May he rest in peace.
