Father Romano Altobelli Returns to the House of the Father

Father Romano Altobelli passed away on May 18, 2022 at the age of 89. He was in poor health.

Father Romano was born on July 1, 1932 in Sonnino, Province of Latina in Italy. His parents were Luigi and Maria. He entered the congregation in Albano Laziale on October 21, 1945. He made his definitive incorporation on January 6, 1956 and was ordained priest on July 14, 1957.

During his life he carried out different ministries for the congregation such as vocational animation, director of the spirituality center and stood out for his work in education.

From September 1984 to 2009 at the Institutes of Religious Sciences of the dioceses of Rieti, Terni, Spoleto and of the Pontifical Lateran University he was professor of Fundamental and Special Moral Theology; at the Interdiocesan Institute of Castelli Romani (Frascati and Albano) teaching Morality of the Person, Social Morality, Bioethics and Pastoral.

From 1992 to 2010 at the Italian Association for the Study of Morals (ATISM) he held the position of Delegate of the Central Italy section, National Secretary, Vice President and in the years 2005-2006, he acted as President after the death of the President.

The funeral was held in Albano Laziale at the College of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood on Friday 20 May at 11:00. He was buried in the cemetery of Albano  in the Chapel of the Missionaries.
