God, the merciful Father, called to himself on May 24, 2021 Father Johannes Öttl, Missionary of the Precious Blood.

Father Johannes was born on January 13, 1931 in Hechendorf near Murnau, Upper Bavaria, diocese of Augsburg, and was baptized on January 15, 1931. On January 6, 1958 he made his definitive incorporation into the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. He was ordained priest in Salzburg on July 13, 1958.

Fr. Johannes first worked in the pastoral care of the sick in Telgte (Westfalia) and then, until 1972, as chaplain in the “Santa Croce” parish in Traunstein. Later he was associate pastor in Zusamzell (1972-1988), in Frechenrieden (1988-1995) and then in the “PG Oberes Zusamtal” until 2019. He often helped as a confessor in “Maria Vesperbild”. Fr Johannes was an extremely zealous priest and concerned for the salvation of the souls entrusted to him. Announcing the true faith to the people was a great priority for him. Father Johannes Öttl died on the feast of Saint Mary Help of Christians, May 24, 2021, in the “Marienheim” in Mussenhausen.

The funeral will be celebrated on Saturday 29 May at 10.00, and after he will be buried in the Bedernau cemetery.
