
Father Giulio Martelli, CPPS, was born in Sonnino, on December 6, 1931. He entered the seminary of Albano on October 22, 1945 and was ordained a priest on August 5, 1956.
His first assignment was in Cento, where he worked as an assistant pastor. In 1961, he was appointed the pastor of the same Parish of Saint Peter, in Cento.
On October 26, 1966, he was transferred to Rome and was appointed the Rector of the Major CPPS Seminary; he served in that capacity until 1972, when he was sent to San Felice di Giano, where he served as the superior of the community. In 1975 he ended his term as the superior of the local community but he continued to live there as he began his teaching at the Regional Seminary of Assisi, where he was a Professor of Theology. In 1978 he was transferred to the community of Albano to work on his researches and studies on Theology and at the same time lectured at the School of Theology for Lay People, in the Diocese of Velletri. In 1985 he returned to Giano as the local superior of the community and Professor of Theology, in Assisi; until he retired. During those years in Giano he also collaborated with Archbishop Fontana for the Archdiocese of Spoleto, for the Archdiocesan Synod and during that time he was also Vicar of the Archbishop and Coordinator Pastor for the area of Martani hills.
On April 23, 2014, at 8 pm he died in Spoleto.
The Provincial Director of the Italian Province presided at his funeral, on April 25, at the Abbey of Saint Felice. In attendance were many CPPS members and diocesan and religious priests who work in the Archdioceses of Spoleto. On the 26th, in Sonnino, a second mass was celebrated with burial in the cemetery of the Municipality. Don Giulio has been buried in Sonnino, close to his mother, according to his will.
