Missionaries of the Precious Blood participated in an outdoor farm Mass organized by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati on July 19. The Mass, where Bishop Joseph Binzer was the celebrant, took place on a dairy farm operated by Doug and Sarah Franck, who are in formation as Companions for the Missionaries. Their farm is across U.S. Highway 127 from St. Charles Center in Carthagena, Ohio.

Nearly 900 people, many of them from farm families, gathered for the Mass. Bishop Binzer told them that their faith could grow like the crops growing all around them on that beautiful summer evening. “God always sows with exuberance. God always sows with love,” he said in his homily. “What we’re receiving (at the Mass) is a great gift from God, and such gifts are meant to be shared. If we allow the Word to take root in our lives, the harvest will be out of this world.”

The Francks are members of St. Aloysius Parish in Carthagena, where Missionaries of the Precious Blood are in ministry. The pastor and associate pastor, Frs. Bill O’Donnell and Jim Smith, concelebrated at the Mass and many other Missionaries were present.
