Rev. Barry Fischer accompanied many members of the Vicariate of Tanzania while they made their annual retreat this fall.  Fischer preached three separate retreats and each was received positively.  Two retreats were held for the incorporated members in Dodoma and one retreat was directed towards the candidates in formation.  The candidate retreat was held in Morogoro.

The theme of this year’s retreat was “Following Francis in Light of our Charism and Precious Blood Spirituality.”  He offered various reflections on how the call of Francis to engage the Church is rooted in the Spirituality of the Precious Blood.  The retreat for the candidates focused on the fundamental elements of the C.PP.S. such as mission, community, and spirituality.  Fischer also engaged the candidates in a discussion of how Precious Blood Spirituality motivates them in their daily life.

Fischer is a past Moderator General of the Congregation and currently is heading the International Center for Precious Blood Spirituality located in Salzburg, Austria.
