This year, the C.PP.S Province of Tanzania has been blessed with five new members who were definitively incorporated on 7th August 2018 and ordained deacons on the following day. The celebration were held at Isdory Bakanja, Boko Parish in Dar es Salaam.
Rev. Fr. Chesco Msaga, C.PP.S, the Provincial Director presided at the incorporation ceremony. In his homily he reminded the new deacons that they are called to serve God and his people following Christ in poverty, obedience and chastity in the spirit of St. Gaspar del Bufalo. He urged the congregation to pray for them so that their response to their vocation may be a continuous acceptance of God’s call to holiness.
The diaconate was conferred by His Eminence Polycarp Cardinal Pengo of the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam. In his homily, Cardinal Pengo said that evangelization needs great sacrifice starting from Christ himself and his disciples. The new deacons have to be ready to suffer for the Gospel because God manifests His love to us even in the midst of sufferings.
