Gerardo Laguartilla, member of the Atlantic Province and originally from the Phillipines, was definitively incorporated on December 3, 2020. Gerardo has been studying Spanish and ministering in Peru since October, 2019. Due to Covid restrictions he has not been able to return to Canada so the celebration was held at San Francisco de Borja Parish in Lima, Peru and it was presided by Fr. Dionicio Alberca, director of the Peruvian district of the Latin American Province.

On December 26, 2020 Gerardo was ordained deacon by Mons. Lino Panizza Richero,  O.F.M. Cap., Bishop of Carabayllo.

The celebrations were attended physically and virtually by many CPPS members from Latin America, Canada, and the US, and friends and family from Peru and the Philippines.

Our best wishes to Gerardo in his new ministry and a safe return to Canada when restrictions are lifted.
