On the feast of our patron, St. Francis Xavier, in the parish church of St. Simpert Dinkelscherben, Br. Michael Sommer was ordained deacon by the Augsburg auxiliary bishop Florian Wörner. Br. Michael Sommer has been in his pastoral year with Fr. Martin Gall for two months in order to be introduced to the pastoral ministry of a parish.
In addition to the parish community, many confreres, priestly friends and members of the USC, the lay community of missionaries of the Precious Blood, participated in the celebration. In his homily, Auxiliary Bishop Wörner pointed out the importance of the hands – to act, to communicate, and also that God creates the human being in his hand, blesses him, and commissions him to his ministry.
