The members of the Vicariate of Tanzania gathered in assembly the 19-21 of September at the mission in Itigi.  This was a continuation of the unfinished agenda from the “de Negotiis” assembly of June 2011.  Present with the members gathered was Fr. Joseph Montenegro, Director of Italian Province.

The main agenda was to discuss the proposal to erect a commercial building in the town center of Dodoma, which would be an income property for the Vicariate.  After a presentation by an expert in investment and much discussion, the Assembly gave the Vicariate Council the “go ahead” to proceed with the project.

Other agenda items discussed included: the Missionary relief; CPPS Bicentenary; the Vicariate’s Theology of Mission; and a Policy on Abuses (sexual misconduct and alcohol).
