Along with the celebration of Christmas, New Year and Epiphany, the CPPS Vicariate of Tanzania, with immense gratitude to the Lord, celebrated the Definitive Incorporation and Deaconate of its four candidates.
The two events took place at Ven. Merlini Formation House, Miyuji in Dodoma on January 5th and 6th. The candidates were: Raymond Deonatus Kaele from Kibara-Bunda in Mara Region; John Greyson Msengi from Singida town; Alex Alphonce Isengwa from Luhama-Sengerema in Mwanza; and Danford Barnabas Mahumi from Kinyambuli in Singida.
At the celebration of their Incorporation, Fr. Reginald Mrosso, Director of CPPS Vicariate of Tanzania, was the main celebrant and preacher. Using the readings for the feast of St. Gaspar, he emphasized that the event was sufficient reason for rendering gratitude to God. He linked the celebration to the Bicentennial celebration and invited us to reflect deeply on the theme of liberation because Incorporation into the in the family of St. Gaspar is an occasion to reflect on Christ’s action of shedding blood in order to give life. He invited them to be a life-giving presence to others, remarking that one can give without loving but cannot love without giving. And finally, based on the invitations of the Year of Faith, he instructed the candidates that their vocation will flourish through evangelizing zeal.

The Deacon Ordination was celebrated on the Feast of the Epiphany and the birth of St. Gaspar del Bufalo. Bishop Gervas Nyaisonga, the Ordinary of the Catholic Diocese of Dodoma, challenged the new deacons to have the missionary commitment of St. Gaspar and to grow in the spirit of service like Jesus. Appropriate to the season, he said that they need to encounter the Lord who has come and dwelt among us and to response with homage to God and by accepting the mission of being sent to evangelize all the nations.
