The Missionaries of the Precious Blood of the Cincinnati Province held their annual Assembly during the week of June 5.  Missionaries, candidates, Companions, and friends gathered at the St. Charles Center for four days of meetings, prayer, and celebrations.  

Much of the agenda focused on the renewal of community life within the Congregation.  The members had an opportunity to reflect on their call to live in community and on the elements that compose an authentic Precious Blood community life.  The work done during the Assembly will help the delegates to the Community Life Symposium to be held in Rome on July 23-28.  

During Evening Prayer on Monday, candidate Greg Evers made his first commitment to the Congregation.  He had spent the past few months in Guatemala with the Missionaries ministering there.  During the next few months he will be visiting the Kansas City Province, followed by an assignment for his special formation year.

In addition to Evers’ commitment to the community, on Tuesday evening five new Companions entered into Covenant with the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.  They joined thirty-seven other lay associates who renewed their Covenants during the celebration of the Eucharist.  

On the final day of the Assembly, representatives from the Chilean Vicariate, Peruvian Mission, Central American Mission, and Colombian Mission ad experimentum led the Province in a discussion of their work in the ongoing reimagining process.  The Latin American units have been planning and preparing a process that may lead to the creation of a single Latin American unit.
