During the month of August the Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Chile celebrated the Bicentennial of the founding of the Congregation. Celebrations took place at the parishes in Purranque and Valdivia. On August 29th the “Precious Blood Family”, which includes a Chilean Precious Blood Congregation of nuns, the C.PP.S. Sisters of the Precious Blood (Dayton), and the C.PP.S. Missionaries, attended a day of recollection with the laity that belong to several Precious Blood spirituality groups. The day included a festive lunch that ended with an eucharistic celebration presided by the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Santiago, Galo Fernández. The Mass was concelebrated by seven C.PP.S. priests and a deacon and nearly six hundred people from the C.PP.S. ministries in Santiago were present. The Missionaries of the Precious Blood have been ministering in Chile since 1947.
