The vocation ministry team of the Cincinnati and Kansas City Provinces took part in the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Approximately 25,000 teens and their youth ministers and chaperones attended the event, where they interacted with members of many religious congregations.

There were many opportunities for prayer, conversation, service projects and fun throughout the event. The C.PP.S. vocation team included Br. Daryl Charron, Fr. Steve Dos Santos, Br. Juan Acuña, Fr. Timothy Armbruster, James Smith and Fr. Vince Wirtner. Fr. Wirtner called the event “a new model of vocation promotion that gives face-to-face time with participants rather than just distributing vocation materials to young people as they pass by a booth.”

“While the task of interacting with 25,000 teenagers, young adults and chaperones seems daunting, we hope that it was the one-on-one interactions and conversations with the participants that will be a long-lasting memory for them,” Fr. Wirtner said.
