Missionaries of the Precious Blood in Brazil gathered during the first week of May for their annual retreat.  This year, in addition to the prayer, presentations, and reflection of the retreat, the members of the Brazilian Vicariate celebrated the continued growth of the Vicariate.  On May 3, 2018, Antonio Célio da Silva Martins, C.PP.S., was definitively incorporated into the Congregation.  In addition to the definitive incorporation, the Vicariate also celebrated the temporary incorporations of Gilson Souza da Cruz, C.PP.S., José Viganor da Costa Rodrigues, C.PP.S., and José Nei Barbosa Duarte, C.PP.S.

Members of the Vicariate were joined by parishioners, family, and friends of the newly incorporated candidates at the eucharistic liturgy at which  V. Rev. Antonio Arcelino Batista Magalhães, C.PP.S. presided.  The wider Congregation was represented as well.  V. Rev. Andreas Haseburger, C.PP.S.,  the director of the Teutonic Province, and Rev. Máximo Mesia, C.PP.S., the director of the Peruvian Mission were present as a sign of solidarity with the Brazilian Vicariate.

Two days after his definitive incorporation, on May 5, 2018, Antonio Célio da Silva Martins was ordained to the diaconate by Archbishop Alberto Taveira Corrêa, the archbishop of Belém do Pará.  The ordination took place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Ananindeua, Pará.
