The Iberian Province of the CPPS gathered for the Assembly that took place at Saint Joseph Seminary, Vila Viçosa, Portugal, on June 7-9 with the participation of the 15 priests that minister in Portugal, Spain and Guinea Bissau.
The gathering started with a morning retreat on the Church discernment and the encounter with the Risen Lord, having synodality as the focus of the retreat. Then, we could spend a longer time to practice synodality following the methodology of listening to the Spirit; this part was facilitated by Fr. Michael who talked about how enriching it was for him to have participated at the Synod in Rome, and all the activities implemented at a Parish level. Lastly, a Financial Report was presented and other pieces of information were shared.
As an important moment and a gesture of synodality, on July 8 we celebrated the Eucharist at Saint Bartholomew Parish and we then shared meal with the lay associates that are responsible for the different communities in the Alentejo area where the CPPS Missionaries live and minister.
