Annual Statistical Report for 2015

0005332_annuario-pontificio-2015-bookEvery year the Holy See requests a statistical report from each religious community in the world.  These statistics are one of the tools that help the Holy See understand where the Church is growing or shrinking in different parts of the world.  However, these statistics only offer a snapshot of the life of a religious community.  They do not tell the whole story of the community life, mission, and spirituality of a community.

Some people may find the statistics for the Missionaries of the Precious Blood interesting and so they are presented here.  The terminology used by the Holy See varies from the categories we use, specifically regarding formation candidates.  In general, aspirants are candidates early in formation, novices are in the middle stages, and temporarily professed are candidates in the later stages of formation.  Two provinces, Tanzania and Italy, account for 70% of all the candidates.

If you have any questions regarding the statistics, or would like a fuller presentation, please contact the Secretary General, Rev. Jeffrey Kirch, C.PP.S., at secgencpps@gmail.com.
