On October 20, Almiro de Sousa, a member of the Brazilian Vicariate, was ordained deacon. The ceremony took place in Almiro´s home parish at the periphery of the city of Santarém.  Bishop Flávio Giovenale from Santarém explained in his homily the charisma of the “Sons of Saint Gaspar” and said to Almiro:  “As a Missionary of the Precious Blood it is your ministry to serve the poor and suffering people.”  He mentioned that service to the poor means “to love like Jesus has loved” and to help people to carry their daily cross.
