On the Epiphany of the Lord, which is also the birthday of our founder St. Gaspar del Bufalo, at Our Lord’s Ascension Parish at Manyoni in Tanzania, CPPS Tanzania celebrated the Diaconate ordination of 5 members.  Celebrating with the community were the parents and families of the candidates and parishioners of Manyoni.

The Ordaining prelate was Rt. Rev. Desiderius Rwoma, the Ordinary of the Singida Diocese. Those ordained Deacons included five CPPS members:  Gaspar Baraka Ndinda, Henry Petro Nilla, Raphael Edward Limu, Sosthenes Dominic Ndendya and Thaddeus Ignatius Memba.  Also ordained to the diaconate was Michael Mrundi (belonging to the Catholic Diocese of Singida).

In his homily, Bishop Rwoma invited all to reflect on the Lord’s manifestation to the world and the world’s response to it. He thus underlined the need to imitate the Magi who through their knowledge of stars managed to recognize the divine event and took trouble to visit the Child Jesus; adore him and present precious and significant gifts. Equally, the deacons  were called to this recognition of divine signs and to be servants in the example of the first seven deacons.
