The grand celebration of the 30th anniversary of St. Gaspar Hospital began on May 14 with the blessing of the Carmelo Imbriani playground for kids and sports center for adults. As part of the inauguration the Archbishop of Mbeya Diocese, the Italian Provincial Director and the local Bishop of Singida Diocese planted trees to mark the celebration.

The next day the celebrations continued with the celebration of Eucharist at Precious Blood Parish. Presiding was the guest of honor, Most Rev. Evaristo Marcus Changula, IMC, the Archbishop  of Mbeya and president of Tanzanian Episcopal Conference. In his homily he emphasized the mission to continue the dream of St. Gaspar Del Bufalo and to serve the needy of our time.

Following the Mass, we again had a ritual planting of trees near St. Gaspar Hospital. Participating was the Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, the Vice Moderator General of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, the Tanzanian Provincial Director and Regional Health Officer. The ceremonial planting of trees is not only a sign to mark the celebration, but also is a symbolic call to preserve our environment. 

The celebration then moved to the St Gaspar Nursing School auditorium for speeches and presentations from the distinguished guests.  And naturally the celebrations were concluded by sharing a festive meal.  

Praise be the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
