March for Life and the Family in Poland

9th March for Life and Family in Zamość, Poland

On Sunday September 8, 2024, in the afternoon, on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the 9th March for Life and the Family took place, in the streets of the city of Zamość.

The March for Life and Family is a regular event organized throughout Poland. It is a time to demonstrate family values and is also a testimony to the faith of city dwellers.

The event aimed to draw particular attention to the growing threats to the values of life, family and homeland. The slogan of the 9th March was ‘UNITED FOR LIFE, FAMILY, FATHERLAND’.

This event united us to bear witness to our values of being a family, male and female, and for life from conception until natural death.

It was attended by representatives of local authorities, Bishop Marian Rojek – Ordinary of the Zamojsko-Lubaczów Diocese, Priests, members of Catholic movements; Associations and Communities and families with children of all ages.

It should be added that the march coincided with the pilgrimage of the relics of the Blessed Ulma family from Markowa in the Diocese of Zamość-Lubaczów. In the parish of Our Lady Queen of Poland in Zamość this relic was received. A solemn Mass was celebrated during which other relics of the saints were received so that these patron saints would accompany us on our journey and take care of us. There were quite a few of them.

The Community of the Precious Blood exhibited two relics; St Gaspar del Bufalo and St Maria De Mattias. We were pleased that Fr Krzysztof Surowaniec CPPS took part in the march and the celebration of the Mass.
